History
Bartram Sponsorship Strategies was created in 1999 while Kevin was still managing his former agency, The Wilkinson Group. It was at TWG that Kevin led the effort to name Pacific Bell Park in San Francisco; developed one of the largest naming rights deals at any U.S. college, the $40 million Save Mart Center sponsorship; created custom programs for companies such as Cisco, SBC, Pepsi, Akamai and Clorox; and consulted a wide range of government, non-profit and entrepreneurial enterprises on the business (and art) of sponsorship.
Heeding the call to serve society at a greater level, Kevin phased out of his role at TWG to focus on his own consultancy in 2001. Inspired by the birth of his children and the world-changing events of late 2001, Kevin redoubled his efforts to apply his experience and his facilitation and leadership skills toward creating partnerships that serve society.
Subsequently, Kevin has consulted organizations as diverse as the National Geographic Society, the Golden Gate Bridge District, NASA, the Esalen Institute, Airship Ventures, Bay Area Discovery Museum and Global Giving. He played a key role in creating the San Jose Grand Prix as a major benefit for the Canary Foundation, a cancer research organization, creating literally dozens of partnerships that served as the backbone of the racing spectacle and festival. He also consulted Wells Fargo in the development of arts-related naming rights programs.
Most recently, Kevin has shifted his focus to addressing matters of sustainability, consulting PG&E as a sponsorship thought leader and designer. Kevin has helped PG&E create or enhance more than 30 major sponsorships including those with the California Academy of Sciences, Habitat for Humanity, the San Francisco Giants, Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, California State Parks Foundation, Marin County Fair and many more. He has led the effort to take portable solar power to several fairs and festivals throughout the state to provide clean power to stages, rides and more.
“We live in a time of great change and opportunity. Those of us with the skills and ability to affect positive change have the responsibility to do what we can to help steer society toward sustainability, cooperation, growth and empowerment.” – Kevin Bartram
